Injuries cannot have a waiting period; illness and non-accident orthopedic waiting periods are capped at 30 days and must be waivable by a vet exam. A condition covered under a policy cannot become pre-existing at renewal with the same or an affiliated insurer. The burden of proving a pre-existing exclusion is on the insurer.
