Coverage

Source: Florida sample policy GPTM 050 FL 1125 A (sample dated 1/7/26, underwritten by AXIS Insurance Company): no wait for accidents, 15 days for illness and injury from normal activity, 30 days for orthopedic conditions not resulting from an injury or accident; the 15-day wait is waived by a full vet exam in the first 15 days, the knee wait by a knee exam in the first 30 days. Coverage flags and enrollment ages are left out: the sample shows limits only through the declarations page, so we could not confirm an unlimited limit in Florida, and Florida underwriting guidelines were not reviewed. Florida rate filing 26-025000 (approved 10 Aug 2026) and new form GPTM 050 PML FL 0326 (filing 26-029242, new policies from 15 Jan 2027) were not read.

History

  1. Clarified the California loss ratio: the 1.126 development factor applies to losses only (1.000 for defense and cost-containment expense), which gives 61.8%
  2. Added BBB and Trustpilot ratings checked on 13 October 2026
  3. Corrected the California loss-ratio statement: the +12.9% was set on the rate template's adjusted ratios (74.8%, 71.8%, 74.5%) for years ending 30 June, not on the raw 55-65% ratios. Marked the rate manual and the optional exclusion endorsements as California sources, clarified the prior-claims thresholds, the deductible options and the Florida 50-claim rule, and removed the pro about puppies and the age-at-inception factor.
  4. First published from California filing 25-2417 and the Florida sample policy GPTM 050 FL 1125 A
